Overview
Silica Transport, Inc. was founded in 1969 to provide transportation to a local mining company. STI has diversified and now serves a variety of shippers.
Management: Family owned and operated. Jack and Carole Knight founded STI in 1969. Their children and grandchildren are active in the operation and management of STI providing customer service 24/7.
EQUIPMENT: STI owns 45 tractors and 170 trailers including dry-bulk tanks, propane transports, flatbeds and end-dumps. Satellite dispatch and tracking was implemented in 1989 and now all trucks are equipped with Omnitracs that enables real-time tracking, workflow and electronic onboard recording. STI is dedicated to keeping pace with technological advances that enable better service. All of the equipment is spec’d to provide maximum economy and payload.
