We were contacted by Yamada on 1/31/2024 asking to be set up with us as a carrier. We collected the W9, COI, and direct deposit form to get them added to our system. They requested load 8915751 on 1/31/2024 with a pickup date of 2/2/2024 and deliver date of 2/7/2024. They submitted delivery paperwork to us from super dispatch on 2/5/2024 with no pictures and no signatures. Our accounting team asked them for the JMN BOL and they then emailed in the JMN BOL with writing next to the VINS and a stamp from the delivery location. At first glance it appears correct so it was processed for payment on our end. On 2/13/2024 I received a call from MC Express Auto Transport stating that he is the driver that delivered these units. He provided me with Central Dispatch screenshots showing that Vega Logistics Inc assigned him the same load. He also provided me with the same JMN BOL as Yamada but this time our name was missing from the top. At this point we had already paid Yamada via ACH so my hands were tied with MC Express. I told him I would research to see what I could find out. Upon reviewing the JMN BOL that Yamada turned in for payment we noticed that a line at the bottom of our BOL was photoshopped. Instead of our name it said Vega. I was then notified by our bank that the ACH payment was returned because the account was frozen. The email from our bank stated account frozen/returned per OFAC. I let Yamada know that our attorneys are now involved since they clearly submitted fraudulent paperwork.
