The company was founded in 1956 by Conroy and Bud Perry. Their goal was to bridge the gap between the farmers in their area and the large companies that were beginning to come in and buy grain. Since they knew that the world was becoming more mobile and interconnected, they wanted to help famers move their crops and provide fertilizer so that those crops would be competitive in an increasingly globalized market.
C. A. Perry and Son celebrated it sixtieth anniversary in March 2016. Over the years, the company has expanded to include five locations in Northeastern North Carolina. The operations of the company have also diversified and adapted in an effort to continue the original goal of providing the best possible service to customers.
