What went well?
  • On Time Pickup
What went poorly?
  • Poor Delivery Condition

We booked a hotshot load with the above-named carrier to transport metal awning frames. After pickup, the carrier experienced a mechanical breakdown, which was communicated to us. We explicitly instructed the carrier not to make any changes or transfers until after the truck was inspected and further direction was given.

Despite this instruction, on Monday morning, we were informed that the carrier unilaterally transferred the freight from the original pallets into a box truck without authorization. During this transfer, the freight was improperly handled — metal frames were stacked directly on top of each other without adequate protection or separation. As a result, a significant portion of the freight was damaged.

The carrier also refused to return the load to the original shipper, further compounding the issue and preventing proper reloading or inspection at the point of origin.

Summary of Issues:
Unauthorized transfer of freight
Improper handling during reloading (stacking metal frames)
Damage to freight due to poor load securement
Refusal to return load to the shipper

We consider this a breach of instructions and a direct cause of avoidable freight damage
