Overview
We are an experienced and fully compliant intermodal drayage company servicing the Port of Oakland by transporting containers to points throughout California. Our goal is to provide a trucking service that is reliable, safe, and environmentally friendly.
Mutual Express Company was established on January 1, 1991 in San Francisco, CA, a merger of two drayage companies, Shima Transfer Co. (est. 1932) and Certified Express (est. 1980). Our knowledgeable staff brings many years of experience and best practices to the table. We believe in building “mutually” beneficial relationships promoting a healthy appreciation for the balance between rates, value, and service. We combine old school customer service with the latest technology to deliver superior service. We are large enough to handle many projects yet small enough to provide personalized service. When you call during normal business hours, you will be greeted by a live voice without having to navigate through frustrating menu options.
The company moved from SF to Oakland in 1998 close to the Port of Oakland. We provide drayage between the Port of Oakland and points throughout California. Our close proximity to the Port enables us to offer value added services such as transloading, weight adjustments, yard pulls, and secure parking. The yard is equipped with electronic surveillance systems, monitored access controls, central station alarm, and an outside patrol service.
