Carrier showed up to the pickup on time and showed up to the receivers when they were supposed to.
When the load was dispatched we told the carrier the load required a Lo Pro Stepdeck which is 36in high and they assured us the driver had a Lo Pro Step. The driver for the carrier went into pickup a wheel loader from Abilene, TX Load 15704 and after the driver gets loaded we get an all from the carrier's dispatcher saying the machine was 14ft 2in high and they needed permits to move the load so as it was the end of the day and we were trying to get the truck moving we asked are you sure you sent in the right type of trailer, and they again reassured us it was a Lo Pro Step. So we agreed to buy the permits if the driver couldn't find a way to make the load legal. When the driver arrived at the receivers they measured the height of the trailer and the trailer ended up being a regular step-deck that was 42in high and not a Lo Pro Step as we had instructed needed to be used. So we go back to the shipper and ask them about the load and they tell us they offered to let some of the air out of the tires to make it legal but the driver refused to allow anyone to not only help him but wouldn't allow anyone to touch the machine after it was loaded and the driver told his dispatcher that the tires were foam-filled and couldn't have air released from them when they were not foam filled they had air in the tires. The carrier ended up trying to spend other peoples money because the driver was not only lazy but didn't need to get permits if he would have let the shipper let some of the air out the machine would have been a legal height, on top of that if they would have sent the trailer in we told them needed to be there would have been no need for permits at all. AS the driver had the wrong trailer and we had told them ahead of time what the dimensions were and they tried to pick the load up anyway the client said he wouldn't pay for permits so the carrier got belligerent about this situation.
